Painter/ Site Maintenance

Garnet Construction Ltd has full time registered designated trainers through Apprenticeship Manitoba.  Successful candidates who are in the Apprenticeship Manitoba program can log hours towards their designation.

 

 

Essential duties and responsibilities

  • Work directly with project managers, supervisors and other trades to help insure the project runs smoothly

  • Understand and interpret blueprints

  • Accurately plan and organize work for yourself, jobsite, self and others

  • Work with the project manager to order materials for your job site. 

  • Complete work;  site preparation, demolition, site protection, daily cleaning, painting, paint prep and job site preparation and maintenance

  • Maintain daily work site that is organized, clean, and safe working conditions

  • Get shit done and insure that as a team we are enjoying our day and making a space that is more enjoyable for our clients 

  • Concise Job log and photo entry daily 

 

Job Requirements

  • Have a minimum of 1 years experience working in residential renovations and construction 

  • Able to work at heights and balance on platforms, scaffolds and decks

  • Be in good health and physically fit

  • Valid Driver’s license with clean drivers abstract

  • Bondable 

 

Skills and Attributes

  • Self-motivated

  • Able to work alone, remote, and part of a team

  • Display good verbal and written communication skills when working with other employees

  • Knowledge in trade related math and basic survey layout

  • Understand and read construction drawings

  • Hardworking and able to readily accept and apply direction from a supervisor

  • Hand and finger dexterity for reaching, handling and feeling while working

  • Comfortable with concise Job log entry  and photos daily 

 

Other Requirements

  • Workers must provide their own safety footwear

  • Workers are required to provide their own basic hand tools 

  • Workers must have reliable transportation, or be able to access job sites in any location of the city

  • Smart phone to access our company software

 

Wage and compensation 

  • Wages commensurate on experience and skill 

 

This position is physically demanding and involves exposure to all elements of outdoor work. Hours of work for this position are based on a standard 44 hour work week. The ideal candidate will be available to work overtime, weekends, and evenings. This position requires a keen attention to detail and a commitment to working safe on our job sites.

Millwork installer / Finish Carpenter

Garnet Construction Ltd has full-time registered designated trainers through Apprenticeship Manitoba.  Successful candidates who are in the Apprenticeship Manitoba program can log hours towards their designation.

 Essential duties and responsibilities

  • Work directly with project managers, supervisors and other trades to help ensure the project runs smoothly

  • Understand and interpret blueprints

  • Accurately plan and organize work 

  • Work independently lifting and supporting cabinets that could weigh up to 75lb

  • Work with the project manager to order materials for your job site. 

  • Complete work;  site preparation, Millwork installation, trim work, hanging mandoors, pocket doors, barn doors, attending and overseeing countertop installations, possible cabinet building/assembly and finishing. Maintain daily worksite that is organized, clean, and safe working conditions

  • Get shit done and ensure that as a team we are enjoying our day and making a space that is more enjoyable for our clients 

  • Concise Job log and photo entry daily in company software

 

Job Requirements

  • Have a minimum of 3-4 years experience working in residential renovations specifically with Millwork and finish carpentry 

  • Able to work at heights and balance on platforms, scaffolds and decks

  • Be in good health and physically fit

  • Valid Carpenter’s training considered an asset, but not required

  • Valid Driver’s license with clean drivers abstract

  • Bondable
